Randy and Elizabeth
This husband and wife team of 38 years started driving over the road in 1999. Randy is a 16 years veteran of the fire service. Starting in the wildland service in Oregon's Willamette Valley in 1980.
They moved to the beautiful State of Wisconsin in 1990 where they raised their 3 children in the Appleton area. Randy got into the DJ business working in several night clubs. Weekly tailgate parties inevitably led to becoming life long Green Bay Packer fans. Yes, "cheeseheads."
The extensive winters and very frigid temperatures led them to warmer climates and to nestle in with parents and family who were life long residents of Southwest Missouri. This is where both got back into the fire service in early 1998.
Elizabeth was the President of their local Auxiliary for 8 years assisting with fundraising and coordinating relief efforts for families in times of need. They have experienced the loss of 3 local firefighters during their service, of which one was from their own department in 2008.
Having made their way back to driving full time in 2016 they found a home with Certified Express, Incorporated in Neosho, Missouri. When this team approached the companies' President/CEO with the concept of the truck it was realized they all had the same mutual desire; to honor those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice. Thus, they were afforded the opportunity to bring Memorial Run to life in April 2018.
The traveling memorial to all fallen firefighters was unveiled to local departments which bare the names of their fallen upon gold ribbons on the memorial wall on the back of the truck cab.
Team Rogers makes numerous stops to visit and share the trucks' mission at fire departments across the country as well as funeral services, memorials, parades, and fundraisers.
The truck is company owned and is a "working truck" traveling all 48 lower states on a full time basis transporting primarily refrigerated products averaging more than 250,000 miles per year.
